Because zirconia (ZrO2) needs to be doped with yttrium (y) to stabilize its structure, YSZ single crystal is generally used, that is, yttrium doped zirconia. It has good mechanical and chemical stability and low price. It is one of the first high-temperature superconducting substrates developed and applied, especially suitable for the preparation of positive films.
